A one-time $19.99 licence retires the weekly reminder.
Get it for your platform
Free, signed and native. Choose your install.
macOS
macOS 11 or later, Apple Silicon or Intel
For Macs with Apple silicon. Signed and notarized, and it keeps itself up to date.
Verify checksumFor older Intel Macs. Signed and notarized, and it keeps itself up to date.
Verify checksumbrew install --cask runthewall/tap/constly
The cask installs the signed build and then defers to Constly's own updater, so it stays current on its own; brew upgrade leaves it be.
Windows
Windows 10 & 11, 64-bit
Signed by RUN THE WALL PTY LTD. On a fresh release SmartScreen may ask once: choose More info, then Run anyway, and check the publisher.
Verify checksumThe same signed app, installed for you by the Store. It updates itself afterwards exactly like the direct install, through Constly's own updater. The Store track follows this page rather than leading it, so it can be a release behind.
Linux
Needs a system WebKitGTK 4.1 (Ubuntu 22.04+ or equivalent, glibc ≥ 2.35)
Debian, Ubuntu and derivatives. Auto-updates in-app via pkexec.
Verify checksumAny distro. Manual: extract and run usr/bin/constly (notify-only updates).
Not sure which Mac chip? Open the Apple menu, then About This Mac: "Apple M…" is Apple Silicon; anything "Intel" is Intel.
Every feature, no watermark, nothing gated. After two weeks a weekly reminder says hello; the one-time $19.99 licence covers up to three devices and retires it. Nothing checks and nothing stops you: pay if it earns its keep. Prefer to buy now? See pricing.
What Constly sends
Two things happen when you open it, whether or not you have paid. Both run in the background and neither stops you working.
- It downloads a small list of licence keys that have been cancelled. Nothing about you goes up.
- It asks whether there is a newer version, then asks again every three hours. You can switch this off in Settings.
If you have bought a licence, one more: it updates the "last used" date for this computer on your licence page, so you can see which machines you are using it on. If you have removed this computer from that page, opening the app will not quietly put it back.
That is the lot. No analytics, no telemetry, no account. Pull the wifi out and nothing breaks, because your files are already on your disk.
Constly can only reach two addresses, api.constly.com and downloads.constly.com. That is not a promise, it is a rule the app enforces on itself, written in tauri.conf.json inside the app bundle. Read it if you like.
One exception worth knowing: if a document links to an image on the web, the editor shows a Load button and fetches it only when you click, and your machine then talks to whoever hosts that image. That is your document naming the host and you choosing to fetch, not Constly; most editors fetch the moment the file opens.
